Lead-free cable connections from LAPP

Why a portfolio for lead-free cable glands? We are certain - if you want to be successful in the future, sustainability is the key word. This also applies to using suitable connection solutions for your applications. This is why we are launching the world's first portfolio of lead-free brass cable glands on the market.

SKINTOP® MS-M

The first choice for versatile applications in mechanical and plant engineering, in measurement and control technology and for high demands on mechanical and chemical stability. It offers optimum strain relief, large clamping range, UL certification and a high degree of protection.

SKINTOP® MS-SC-M

The EMC gland has a highly conductive, flexible EMC contact spring and also has a low-ohmic shield contact for EMC-compliant earthing of the braided shield.

SKINDICHT® SM-M

The matching counter nut for SKINTOP® cable glands
We will gradually add lead-free alternatives to other product groups. Existing variants will also remain available from stock for the time being.

Durable material with the same quality

The lead-free product portfolio offers a durable and future-oriented product alternative with the same performance. The lead-free brass cable glands offer the same reliable LAPP quality as the previous versions. This applies to mechanical properties and corrosion resistance as well as EMC properties. Moreover, they also meet protection rating IP68, which is confirmed by numerous tests in our own laboratories and in external test institutes.

New RoHS directive

Lead-free products are also already the right choice for users whose production is integrated into global value chains. This is because the new materials directives in the European RoHS Directive came into force in July 2021. This also affects the use of lead in copper alloys, which is also used, for example, in the manufacture of cable glands. The REACH regulation also includes lead in the list of "substances of very high concern" (SVHC), which could be banned in the future.

Although RoHS and REACH originate from Europe, they also have a major influence on international directives, which are in place in the US (California List) or China (RoHS Directive), for example.
